After graduating from the Rhode Island School of Design in 1998 with an Illustration degree, Lauren Gardiner moved out to the exciting hotbed of weirdness and neurosis that is Los Angeles. Saddled with a good sense of humor, yet a spattering of melancholy, Lauren's work reflects her conflicting love/hate relationship with humanity, highlighting our weaknesses, insecurities and strange behaviors. If she laughs at a piece she has created because it is so pathetic, so sad, Lauren has accomplished the task at hand: to not take everything so seriously and show that we humans can be so ridiculous.
